Aveeno Review

When FuelMyBlog offered me the chance to try my hand at writing a review I jumped at the chance. I had no idea what I was expected to review but hey, I'll try anything once!
A few days later the parcel popped through my door. I loved FuelMyBlog before but now I REALLY love FuelMyBlog!
So what did they send me? Something nice of course! Daily Moisturising Lotion, Aveeno Cream and bath Powder. All enriched with natural colloidal oatmeal from the Aveeno body care range.
Before I dive in and tell you all about my Aveeno two week experience, let me tell you a bit about the actual product.
With natural colloidal oatmeal and rich emollients, Aveeno actively helps soothe and protect dry sensitive skin. It is also clinically proven to moisturize for a full 24 hours.
Sounds great!
The actual packaging has a 'natural' look and feel about it. It didn't quite drum up thoughts of natural, healthy ingredients though. More like 'Eco friendly' compost. Actually, I think that says more about me than the product!
So, here is what I found.
On day one I excitedly and stupidly squeezed lashings of Daily Moisturising Lotion into my hands. Two smothered arms and two smothered legs later, I was a sticky mess! Running out of skin I took to wiping my hands on anything and every one!
The good news was it had absolutely no smell to it.
5 hours after applying the lotion I was still sticky and had gained fluffy arms and legs. Every fibre possible was stuck to me. All I wanted was a hot shower.
Day 2 came... and went . Day 3 came... And went.
Day 4 and I decided to give it another go. I started with the lotion. This time I used a small amount. It absorbed into my skin fine leaving my legs reasonably soft.
I used the Aveeno Cream on my arms and hands. I have very dry bumpy skin on my arms and cracked elbows. Not something I usually tell the world. My skin felt slightly softer but there was something much better than that. My arms didn't itch all day. I am so used to having itchy arms that I had forgot how it felt not to itch!
I stuck to this morning routine for 13 days. The itching relief had been instant. Softer, smoother more hydrated arms and legs didn't seem to be happening. Within a couple of hours of applying the cream and lotion my skin looked dry again.
I'm not sure what day it was. I haven't quite grasped the art of reviewing. Possibly day 9, I went to do my legs and whoa! They looked great. OK, maybe not great but i noticed a change in them.
Overall my skin has softened and is feeling smoother.
I tried the Aveeno bath Powder last night. What can I say. Luxury. My skin feels great.
For me personally, the relief I have got from my itchy arms has been brilliant. If my skin had stayed looking and feeling like leather I wouldn't have cared. I have tried so many different lotions over the years and nothing has come close to Aveeno.
Aveeno is sold at Boots stores throughout the UK and most major chemists £4.99 - £6.99.
